It’s hard to believe we’re at the end of the school year already! It seems like just yesterday we were beginning the year. Everyone has grown so much! It’s been a year full of making friends, exploring, learning, and growing. Joan, Jackie and I will miss all of the children going on to kindergarten! We look forward to seeing all our returning students next fall.

These last three weeks of school are VERY busy! I’ll try to put up extra reminders and emails, but please let me know if you have any questions.

Wednesday, June 2nd will be our dessert social at the T-burg school playground. Bring something sweet to share and join us at 6:30 pm to celebrate the end of a wonderful school year!

The last day of school will be Thursday, June 17th and graduation for those children going to kindergarten will be that evening at 6:30 pm. in the chapel upstairs. Children are welcome to bring as many guests as they’d like and we’ll have cookies too!

Our TCNS rummage sale & chicken BBQ is set for Saturday, June 19th. Bring in items for the sale anytime. We’ll also need a few parents to help sort & price items on Friday the 18th, and to help sell & serve on the 19th. Look for the sign up.

Our camp weeks for this summer are July 12-15 and July 26-29. Camp runs Monday through Thursday from 9-noon at the nursery school. We usually spend the majority of the time outside – projects, reading, messy play. We go in for snack and to cool off a bit, but then back outside! Registration is first come, so sign up early!

We’re trying to fit in another t-shirt order before the end of the year. Look for the order form, or let me know if you’re interested. Also, please check out our yearbook and sign up to order one! Heather Tielens is putting it together this year and we’re planning for them to be back before the end of school. The cost is $12.

Registration: Please remember to let me know as soon as possible if you plan to withdraw your child. To receive a refund of your tuition deposit, you need to notify us by August 1st. We’re currently fully enrolled for next fall with a waiting list – if your plans change and we can make a spot for another child, please let me know!

TCNS is happy to announce that Liz Kinast (Maura’s mom) will be joining Jackie as a teacher in the Terrific Two’s room next year. We were overwhelmed to have so many wonderful and talented parents apply for the position. It was certainly difficult to choose only one, but we’re pleased to have a nice list of subs all ready for next year!

June Activities:
The week following Memorial Day we’ll be reading Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom by Bill Martin. We’ll make our own alphabet tree and find the letters from our name. Our next book will be Splat the Cat by Rob Scotton this is a fun book about a cat’s first day of school. We’ll make cat puppets and salt dough sculptures. We’re hoping to fit in a fieldtrip to kindergarten this week to help ease concerns about the transition. The final week of school we’ll be reading My Daddy Snores by Nancy Rothstein. The children will really enjoy this silly book just in time for Father’s Day. We’ll be making a special father’s day gift.
